TeamBR have the pleasure of opening the Winter/Spring Trail Series for 2023! It’s a fantastic little event that spans 4 rounds every 4 weeks from Janurary through to April. There are two courses that are run in different directions to make up the four rounds. Each round is set in the fantastic backdrop of Broughton woods and at the time of year when the woods are at their muddiest!
How does it work?
In each round you accrue points for your fnishing position, then at the end of the series the points are totalled and whoever has the most takes the series prize. The maximum points you can earn are the same as the participant cap, in this case 50. So, first place will get 50 points and last place will get 1 point. There may be a a points draw, in which case the event staff will make a decision on how to proceed.
What to expect
The event will be fully chip timed and you will receive a race number with chip attached to the back, these will be given out on the day so please be sure to arrive in good time to collect and attach the chip/race number. There isn’t much parking nearby so please park couteously and sensibly, if you’re heading here in a group, please try to car share where possible. The courses are roughly 4 miles long through woodland trails, there may be roots and muddly patches so trail shoes are a must!
The course will be marked out with some confidence tape and we will have some marshals dotted around to keep you on the right track but it would be really worth attending a reccie before the event or downloading the GPX’s which are available on the event page here.
Entry into each round costs £3 which is payable on registration. There are no medals for this race but you will receive a commemorative certificate for completing each round.
If you’re interested in taking part head over to the event page here or just go straight to the registration page here.
Good Luck!
I always look forwards to this event as I really love taking part in similar events myself. It’s really fun to watch how the competative element develops and it’s also great to see those people who just come out for a bit of fun. I hope to see you there!
