Youth coaching is at the heart of our values, we believe that health and wellbeing are important part of in the growth of children. It’s vitally important to us that our young athletes can experience a safe, supportive environment where they can be themselves and flourish within the athletics arena. We show them that you don’t have to be the fastest or the most competitive to enjoy sports & athletics, it’s about the individual experience and finding enjoyment within athletics.
Our coaches spend time educating our youth members in all like form, strength, sprints, endurance and mental resilience, just to name a few. We try to make our sessions fun so that they can enjoy them without feeling like they’re too boring, but still training in a way that will benefit their athleticism.

To the untrained, children are miniature adults, but nothing can be further from the truth. Children’s bodies are not full developed until after puberty and they are prone to injuries because of it. Pushing them too hard can leave them with life altering injuries. For this reason, all of our youth sessions are carefully planned to make sure that they get the optimal training load without overloading them to the point of failure. Because of this, we ensure that our youth coaches have taken the highest level of training available to make sure that the children are cared for and trained correctly.
Our coaches take on the role of mentor as well as coach to have a positive influence on their lives and to be the people they can go to talk to if they’re having any problems outside of training. Each week we have a “Runner of the Week” award so that we can reward the behaviours we want to encourage.
