TeenyBR 2023

Our TeenyBR summer camp kicked off a few weeks ago, I have to say that this is the most fun course we do here, it’s always such a great laugh and the kids really enjoy it too.

For those of you who don’t know, TeenyBR is our 6 week course, usually run in the summer holidays, which is an introduction to running for foundation (or beginner) level. As you know kids can get easily bored so it’s more about making the experience fun whilst introducing them to running, the skills that relate to it, why they’re important and how to train them.

Last week, I turned up to the with the weather like this…

Not the best start. Obviously, we had to be very careful due to the heightened risk of slips on the wet grass and also the cold which would affect them if they stood still for too long. Mark Morris was leading the session and improvised to make sure that none of the kids were stood still too long and the games were sensible enough that they wouldn’t go skidding into each other.

The kids had a great time doing relays, flipping cones and competing against each other whilst unwittingly learning about the fundamental skills! They might have ended up as soggy wet messes, but at least they were happy soggy wet messes! (I’m not sure the same could be said for the parents who were out weathering it!)
